Precision Farming – Intelligent control for maximum efficiency

With Bucher Automation’s precision farming solution, OEMs receive a powerful system platform for modern agriculture. The solution integrates seamlessly into existing machine concepts and offers a wide range of functions for precise, site-specific application of resources.

Thanks to integration into the tractor display via the Virtual Terminal (VT) and support for AUX-N joysticks, operation is intuitive and convenient. The integrated task management enables structured processing of workflows directly in the field.

Speed-dependent application rate control and GPS-based site-specific application ensure pinpoint accuracy – for greater efficiency and reduced resource consumption. The solution is fully ISOBUS-compliant and supports FMIS connectivity for planning and documentation.

An optionally integrated weighing system provides additional accuracy in application rates and supports complete traceability.

For today and tomorrow

We respond to these requirements with modular and easily scalable systems. For example, a spreader is first considered in terms of its sub-functions. For these, we have developed standalone solutions.

Spreader solution in practice

Each complete system for a specific spreader now consists of a combination of functions. The vehicle manufacturer can select all electrical sub-functions via a configuration file and thus assemble a customized solution for their vehicle or implement. Spreader functions can be modified either on a PC or directly on the device. This makes hydraulic systems, controllers, and operating devices easily scalable in terms of functionality – from basic to full equipment. Manufacturers can choose visualization solutions, controllers, input/output modules, central electrics, and plug-and-play cable solutions. The modular system from Bucher Automation also helps reduce the time from development to market launch of new equipment.

The system solution covers common requirements and is easily configurable from simple to complex. It is open to future changes and customer-specific expertise.

Each system solution consists of highly specialized hardware and software. The modular and scalable principle ensures individual adaptation to your needs.

Operating devices

The operating devices are ergonomically and functionally designed to meet the specific requirements of spreaders, ensuring safe operation at all times.

Controllers

The compact controller JetControlMobile X231, despite its small dimensions, offers a high number of flexibly configurable inputs and outputs. A special feature is the generously dimensioned half-bridges, which can be configured as full bridges and deliver up to 24 A in parallel operation.

I/O-Modules

The expansion modules JXM-IO-EX30 and JXM-IO-E30 are robust, CANopen®-enabled I/O units with a balanced I/O configuration. The EX30, with its innovative plug-and-play cabling concept, is ideal for flexible, decentralized solutions, while the E30, with reference output and efficient wiring, is optimized for series production in identical machines.

Central electrics

The central electrics unit JXM-CE-60A offers a simple way to wire complex agricultural machines.

Cabling

The matching cables for connecting all components – from central electrics to ECU and I/O modules, as well as all actuators and sensors – are overmolded and rated IP69 when plugged in (dust- and waterproof).

For fast and secure integration of our I/O modules into mobile working machines, we provide clear documentation on recommended cable configurations. A cable overview for JCM-X231 and EX30 includes all relevant information for field wiring and supports efficient commissioning. All details are available in a compact PDF document.

HMI extensions and special control units

The POWERKEY PRO keyboard series features a compact design. Equipped with a CAN interface and individually assignable keycaps, the device offers a wide range of application possibilities.

Software Licenses

Easily activate desired software functions using licenses. You can configure your individual requirements for the range of functions completely freely, because the associated license costs are also scalable for any machine configuration. Precision Farming

The Bucher Automation system solution supports the Precision Farming functions defined by ISOBUS. This allows the ISOBUS terminal to specify exactly where and how much material should be applied. The application rate control adjusts the output precisely according to driving speed and predefined values. If a NIR sensor is installed on the machine, the application can also be regulated based on the nutrient content. The controller reports the actual application rate back to the task controller in the terminal for documentation. The terminal can then forward the collected data – for example via AgriRouter – to the FMIS.

Central Electrics – Also for Slurry Tanks

The powerful central electrics unit from Bucher Automation forms the core of our spreader solutions – and demonstrates its full potential in slurry tank technology as well. It combines all relevant control and communication functions in a compact, robust module, ensuring reliable and efficient machine integration.
