The Bucher Automation system solution

Bucher Automation’s automation solution is fully scalable – for simple to highly complex slurry tanks and compatible with all common types of application rate control. Equipment options are equally flexible: you decide which functions and components to integrate – based entirely on your requirements and desired functionality.

Our principle: we divide the slurry tank into individual functional areas, develop an optimal automation solution for each sub-function, and combine them into a modular overall system. The result: vehicle manufacturers can configure and activate individual system combinations – precisely tailored to their specific requirements.

Scalable system architecture

The scope of automation depends on the number of desired functions – accordingly, the system can be expanded with additional input/output modules on the machine.

Expansion examples

Devices and Components

Each system solution consists of highly specialized hardware and software. The modular and scalable principle ensures individual adaptation to your needs.

Operating devices

The operating devices are ergonomically and functionally designed to meet the specific requirements of spreaders, ensuring safe operation at all times.

Controllers

The compact controller JetControlMobile X231, despite its small dimensions, offers a high number of flexibly configurable inputs and outputs. A special feature is the generously dimensioned half-bridges, which can be configured as full bridges and deliver up to 24 A in parallel operation.

I/O-Modules

The expansion modules JXM-IO-EX30 and JXM-IO-E30 are robust, CANopen®-enabled I/O units with a balanced I/O configuration. The EX30, with its innovative plug-and-play cabling concept, is ideal for flexible, decentralized solutions, while the E30, with reference output and efficient wiring, is optimized for series production in identical machines.

JXM-IO-EX30 and JXM-IO-E30 are part of a comprehensive product family of powerful I/O modules – discover more variants and use cases of our JXM modules..

Central electrics

The central electrics unit JXM-CE-60A offers a simple way to wire complex agricultural machines.

Cabling

The matching cables for connecting all components – from central electrics to ECU and I/O modules, as well as all actuators and sensors – are overmolded and rated IP69 when plugged in (dust- and waterproof).

For fast and secure integration of our I/O modules into mobile working machines, we provide clear documentation on recommended cable configurations. A cable overview for JCM-X231 and EX30 includes all relevant information for field wiring and supports efficient commissioning. All details are available in a compact PDF document.

HMI extensions and special control units

The POWERKEY PRO keyboard series features a compact design. Equipped with a CAN interface and individually assignable keycaps, the device offers a wide range of application possibilities.

An overview of available keypads and inserts is provided in this PDF document.

Software Licenses

Easily activate desired software functions using licenses. You can configure your individual requirements for the range of functions completely freely, because the associated license costs are also scalable for any machine configuration. Subsequent functional expansions can be implemented at any time.

Activate desired software functions easily via licenses.

You can freely configure your individual functional requirements – license costs are scalable for any machine configuration. Functional upgrades can be implemented at any time.

  • Slurry Tank Standard
  • ISOBUS TC-SC
  • ISOBUS TC-GEO
  • Upgrade: 25 additional inputs or outputs
  • NIR Sensor
  • Tire pressure control system
  • Steering control via ISOBUS
  • Third-party system

Subsystems

Perfectly coordinated subsystems ensure both functional scope and operational reliability. We have optimized the versatile subsystems so that they deliver excellent results individually or in combination.

Functions and Subsystems

Software functions are configurable via various license models. Functions and associated license costs are scalable for any machine configuration. Functional upgrades can be implemented at any time.

  • Automatic tire pressure control system
  • Electronic steering and suspension systems
  • Central lubrication units
  • NIR sensors (John Deere and MUT)
  • Flow sensor
  • Test mode / diagnostic mode
  • Freely placeable softkeys
  • Automatic application rate control
  • Piadin mixing unit
  • Counter management (up to 10 field counters)
  • Lift axle
  • Precision Farming (TC-BAS, TC-GEO, TC-SC)
  • All functions are configurable via text file
  • Language switching
  • Joystick via ISOBUS AUX-N

Precision Farming

The Bucher Automation system solution supports the Precision Farming functions defined by ISOBUS. This allows the ISOBUS terminal to specify exactly where and how much material should be applied. The application rate control adjusts the output precisely according to driving speed and predefined values. If a NIR sensor is installed on the machine, the application can also be regulated based on the nutrient content. The controller reports the actual application rate back to the task controller in the terminal for documentation. The terminal can then forward the collected data – for example via AgriRouter – to the FMIS.

Operation | Visualization

Our operating concept is based on a consistent and field-proven visualization approach. It considers ergonomic aspects as well as the use of clear icons on all control elements. The consistent use of functional icons across all devices ensures safe operation at all times. This way, everything remains under control.

HMI Functions

  • Freely placeable softkeys via configuration file
  • Self-explanatory icons
  • Clear and structured display
  • Symbolic machine views
  • Status bar
  • Info bar
  • Freely placeable special icons
  • Work menus and password-protected configuration menu
  • Configuration via text file
  • Intuitive color scheme
  • Visual feedback for operational safety
