A matter of view: A dashboard to suite everyone‘s taste

As different as the roles in the company are, as different are the requirements for the information presented. With ProData, you can easily create any number of dashboards for different application scenarios. For this purpose, a pool of predefined widgets is available which can be placed in the dashboard via drag & drop. The widgets and the look & feel can be configured in a very simple way. No programming knowledge is required for this.

Your shop floor at a glance

Wouldn‘t it be great if you, as a production manager, had an overall view of the factory from above and could see important information, such as the current status for each machine? No problem with ProData, because this is where all the relevant information about your production comes together. If for a machine the status „Offline“ is displayed, for example, it is possible to jump directly from the factory dashboard to a more detailed dashboard of the machine in order to obtain further details on the status of the machine.

Increase the effectiveness of production

The measure for the added value of a plant is the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) which is determined by the three factors availability, performance and quality. Bucher Automation ProData provides an OEE widget which calculates and visualizes the OEE index for each machine in real time. The consideration of overall equipment effectiveness provides clear indications as to whether productivity can be maximized, and thus whether the operation of a plant can be made even more economical. By looking at past OEE figures, a decline in the effectiveness of a plant can be counteracted by suitable measures.

Avoid unplanned production stops

Your products are unique. So is your production. This makes it all the more important to have a solution that allows you to monitor your individual production parameters. With ProData, all values provided by the machine can be visualized within dashboards without the need for writing a single line of additional code. It is also possible to set different values in relation to each other. The simultaneous view of values - in this case RPM and temperature - makes it possible to identify correlations in order to better infer the cause of anomalies. All values recorded in ProData can be viewed retrospectively for up to 2 years.

If desired, Bucher Automation ProData can also monitor the technical parameters of your production automatically in the background. An integrated set of rules lets you define limit values within which safe production is guaranteed. If limit values are exceeded or not reached, a warning message is automatically generated and a task is created to correct the problem. This enables you to take countermeasures in good time before an unexpected production stop occurs. This saves time and money. Examples: The temperature of the cross-sealing unit of an HFFS packaging machine is below a specified minimum temperature The lubrication interval of a machine module has been exceeded.

Reduce planned machine downtime and service times

When machines must be repaired due to malfunctions, there are always critical issues which often lead to an extension of cost-intensive downtimes. For example, messages that are not meaningful, such as „Machine is down“, are forwarded to the service team. Often the service personnel then go out to the machine to find that they do not have the right tools or materials with them. With ProData‘s Machine Monitoring System (MMS), you instruct your machine to automatically generate service tickets in the event of malfunctions providing all the necessary information for rapid maintenance.

This benefits not only the service technician, who can better prepare for the service job, but also machine operators of a later shift, who can see in the service history of the system at any time whether and if so what special incidents occurred during the last shift.

Simple and safe

During the development of ProData, emphasis was placed on the use of state-of-the-art technologies while taking into account the highest standards of data security.

Perfect team play

The ProData cloud solution fits ideally into the Bucher Automation automation platform. Our principle: Configuring rather than programming. Thus, no additional program code is required to display a machine value in ProData. The variable to be analyzed is selected in our JetSym programming environment for publishing via OPC-UA with just one click. Then, the variable has to be subscribed in the OPC-UA Client on the service PC. Within a very short time, the new information from the machine is available in ProData.

Secure communication

Communication with the controller takes place via the secure and platform-neutral OPC-UA protocol. For this purpose, a specially designed OPC-UA client is running on a separate Windows PC. In practice, this can be the service PC, for example, which is delivered with the system. Big advantage: There is no direct access to the controller from the outside – your production is secure.

The protection of your data is a top priority

ProData by Bucher Automation does not give unauthorized access a chance. From the acquisition of the machine data, during the transfer of the data to the cloud, to the storage and provision in a database, all data packages are protected. All data is stored on encrypted hard drives in data centers in Germany and is secured according to ISO 27001 certification. The data can only be accessed via secured login and encrypted channels.

Optimum visualization on all devices

The Bucher Automation ProData solution was created in Responsive Design. The display automatically adapts to the properties of the output device. Whether the output is on the smartphone or the production monitor on the factory floor, dashboards only need to be created once.
